I found a Nissan 350Z listed at their Cedar Rapids location and placed an online hold that was advertised as being good for 24 hours. I live about an hour and a half away, so I went to the McGrath dealership in Davenport instead. A salesman there told me he would handle everything and have the car brought down to Davenport for me.
After that, I received a call from Russ Beltz at the Cedar Rapids location. I informed him that a Davenport salesman was already assisting me with the purchase. At this point, two salespeople and one manager were aware that I fully intended to buy this vehicle. I was told the car could be brought to Davenport the same day, which never happened.
Later, I received a message from Russ Beltz stating that the vehicle had been sold — despite knowing I was actively trying to purchase it and had been told it was being transferred for me. The lack of communication and follow-through was extremely disappointing, and it felt very unprofessional given the assurances I was given.
Overall, this experience wasted my time and left me with no trust in their sales process. I would not recommend this dealership if you expect honesty, coordination between locations, or respect as a serious buyer.
