Trustworthy, Fixed My Car Correctly, Now It Runs Like New
My 2008 Mercury Grand Marquis was in bad shape internally, and I didn't know it. To make a long story short, over the course of several months, my car was having trouble with fuel, spark, and alternator (as well as a few other issues). I'm no mechanic, so all I knew at the time was "the engine isn't running smooth, seems to skip, probably spark plugs." I took my car to a different, closer mechanic shop to fix this, and that shop gave me the price my heart wanted (fuel pump replaced and "just needs a tune-up") but didn't actually fix my car. After that shop, my car ran a bit better but still had same issues. I finally took my car to Cecil McCrary and his fine crew (1h 30m from my home), whom my dad, brother, and brother-in-law trust with all their mechanic needs. I should have done that first thing. What Cecil discovered is that the previous mechanic had botched the repairs: fuel line wasn't even connected well, fuel was leaking there; new spark plugs were incorrect for my vehicle; and the other mechanic had even bent a part that made my fuel gauge read incorrectly! I think he said the new fuel pump was incorrect for my vehicle too. Cecil found and corrected these things as well as the other serious issues with my car: failing alternator, a bad coil in a cylinder, and engine seriously needing decarb, none of which the other mechanic found or mentioned. I understand the other mechanic wanting to save a customer some money, but in the end it costed me more because I had to get all those shotty repairs corrected by a trustworthy mechanic, not to mention that if Cecil and his crew hadn't found these issues I would have unknowingly continued driving my car into an early grave, which would have of course costed way way more than just getting it fixed right the first time. (The car was in such bad shape that Cecil said "I'm surprised the car could even make it to my shop.") Thank you Cecil! My car runs smoothly, flawlessly, powerfully, better than new. I know without a doubt it is truly fixed. I need a reliable vehicle for taking care of my family, my job, and other social obligations, so thank you for taking care of us all. God bless you, your crew, and your good business.
