2021 Santa Fa Horn Repeatedly fails. This is the 3rd time.
First, Great Service, Great people!! And Nice car. Problem is the dual horn broke 3 times now on my new 2021 Santa Fa. This time, one of the dual horns broke. (Weak Horn sound), If like the other 2 broken horns, the second of the dual horns will break soon and there will be no horn working. Told by the mechanic the first time, that this was a design problem with the car. Horns were on back order due to this problem. Several weeks driving without a horn. The Mechanic past the inspection and told me it's OK to drive. Because the horn was on order. Today, told it is the way Hyundai designed the mounting of the horn. Told it's my problem, not built to be put through the car wash. Water gets into the horn. (What about rain/snow?) Told it's not Hyundai's problem. (Sorry but I strongly disagree). The service dept. very nicely ordered a new dual horn. I Like the car, was thinking of buying another. But if Hyundai is selling cars, I cannot drive thru a car wash. That's ridiculous! As much as I'd like another Hyundai, I'm not buying another. Not when I'm told to drive without a horn. It's illegal.... And it's dangerous. On the 2nd broken horn, I almost was driven off the road by a car pulling into my lane, (No horn to tell the other driver I was there) and also had to avoid a pedestrian from getting run over. (No horn to get their attention). I feel that Matthews is a very good dealership and I trust that they will report this poor horn design/positioning, back to Hyundai and get a fix for the cars like mine that are on the road. If there's an accident due to no horn. I will not be liable. Hope Hyundai does something to correct this very soon. Thanks for doing your best Matthews. I've been recommending you to my family and friends. (The 3 Stars is for Hyundai).
