Warranty Issue
My daughter lives in Philadelphia. She had a problem with her car so she took it to mall Chevrolet. It had a platinum warranty. A Chevy dealer in Williamsville, NY said they could fix it for the $100 deductible with the warranty. Mall said it wasn’t covered by the warranty so I paid approximately $2300 to get her car fixed. She needed the car to get to work. Was mister mall putting an addition on the house. I will never send her there again. I see GM wants to take their franchise away. I would have done it a long time ago. I would rate them lower but that’s as low as ratings go.

A horrible place
This is a horrible place. It is only good if you like pain in lower back and dealing with not trustworthy people.

As of September 2024 it was acquired by Hessert chevy but my experience started when it still was Mall Chevrolet and continued after acquisition with pretty much the same charm and pain.

I purchased a Colorado truck at 8/24/24. They did not give me any discounts (so do not believe sales people calling and saying they will offer a best price). I paid full MSRP. I paid all processing fees etc. But they did not order my permanent license tag until 9/17/2024. Kaisha who was responsible told me that it was because .... "she got a little bit behind..."

So my temp tag had expired. I felt it is going to happen and called them 6 times to alert starting from 9/8/2024. Called salesperson Jim Borgmann six times to remind about that a license tag is due. He did not do anything.


I am single father, I have to drive my kid to and from school every day. How can I do this without car being registered? Kaisha from Hessert Chevrollet told me that they will not pay for a rental car. She suggested to keep driving my unregistered truck and collect tickets that they later will pay. Sure things a law abiding citizen like me will never do. She also told me that I have to come in a few days and pick up my license plate. No they will not deliver it to me. I have to come and pick it. My rental does not allow to drive out of state. She doesn't care.

On a side not they late paid my trade-in on 9/18/2024 (3+ weeks after they had to do this), what forced me to do one extra payment to the prior lender.

During sales process they tried to take advantage of me when offering financing. They claimed that interest rate is more than 6% before I showed an email from another dealer telling that 60m rate is 4.2% for all colorado trucks as per GM financials. Then they said - nevermind, 4.2% it is ...

To get help I called General Motors support line. Unfortunately attitude of GM support is not much different than attitude of this dealer. Receptionist told me that GM does not help customers with dealers related issue. So I am in this on my own.

Another interesting thing about buyers experience. GM sold me On-Star internet service claiming it goes with a discount for 15$ a month (activated by phone). But when a bill arrived it happened to be 29.99$ a month, no discount.

A lot of small thing to make me feel like I am dealing with crooks. Real professional, well trained crooks. I owned a lot of cars like Mercedes, Toyota, Mazda but nothing came close to the miserable experience of buying a new Chevrolet.

Scammers and liars
I have bought 3 new vehicles from here in last 8 years. Everything was great until recently when trying to get service on my last purchase 2020 silverado. I have a lift kit on my truck which was on it when I purchased it from Mall chevy. I took it for a clunking noise under driver seat, tire rotation and wheel alignment. I dropped my vehicle off and they were going to charge me double a normal wheel aligment because of the life kit. Mind you i had a wheel aligment a year ago there and it was normal price. Sales then hastled me about the lift kit. I informed sales you all put that kit on so what was the issue. 3.5hrs later I get a phone that they could not find anything wrong under driver seat and did not do the tire rotation or wheel alignment but it was clean under the car. I hope so there is only 16k miles on it and I baby my vehicle. Sales then proceeded and stated the water from the rain must have lubricated the problem. Water is a lubricant now, wow dumb dumb. As soon as I left the parking lot, the clunking sound happened and now there was a new rattling sound I NEVER has before. So I look under the vehicle and see that the catalyst converter anti theft shield I installed was bent. (They bent the front of the antitheft shield down which gives you a direct visual to under the driver seat and where the cataylast converter sits) I called service, spoke with supervisor John, and he denied doing any damage. In fact, John stated they did nothing to my vehicle but test drive it and that my vehicle didn't even make it into the service area. So I immediately told John he was a liar, I seen them drive my vehicle into the service area before I even left. So John proceeded with a million excuses denying anyone bent the shield. I said it's funny I was under there the day before and no bend...I leave and now there is this new rattling sound and a bend and what do u think is making the rattling sound. Again John had a million excuses from trying to blame whomever Services my vehicle to whomever put the shield on to even possible hitting or running something over. I explained I do my own maintenance, I put the shield on and my truck is approx a foot higher then normal with no other damage underneath, nothing to skid plate, frame, nothing which all would have had damage before the shield because the shield sits higher then all that. Then I asked why did my truck sit there for 4hrs for u to do nothing. Is this common to let a car sit there and u do nothing. He stated he did not want to touch the vehicle because of the lift kit. They don't like doing anything with vehicles with lift kits on them. I said wow, u did a wheel aligment before and I was even willing to pay double today. He then stated they charge roughly 200 dollars an hr to service vehicles and they could have charged me 800 dollars that day so consider myself lucky they didn't charge me anything. He asked me several times during this coversation to bring the vehicle back in and he will have someone check it. ARE YOU SERIOUS. I told him no thanks. I will never bring my vehicle back and i will never buy anotger vehicle from chevy. At this point the cursing started coming out. Join, like a coward hung up. I spoke with the GM who was vwry nice and took a manager stance and offered to have a GM specialist look at it, no a mechanic from his shop. I jnformed the gm i think its the control arm making the clunking sound, common in trucks especially chevy/GM and thst i been working on cars almlst 30years and have seen this before. Also i stated I have a warranty on the vehicle so your not going to honor the warranty because of the lift kit on THAT YOU ALL (CHEVY) installed. Again the GM Craig offered to have someone else look at it. I told him I appreciate it.

End result I bent the anti theft shield back into normal shape and guess what no rattling.

I will never shop at any of the csr dealerships associated with mall chevy nor will I ever buy another vehicle associated or under the GM umbrella. So I think chevy and gm should give John a big thank you for losing me as a customer.

Trouble with the ineffective service department !
I took my 2003 Corvette to them on weds 3-1-2023 for a ABS light on the dash, The dealership gave me an appointment for 830 AM, but they couldn't work on it then, so I waited. They then said it needed a wheel Hub assemble and they ordered it with the assurance it would be done that day. By 5 o'clock I had been sitting there 8 hours, No part and no ride home. The next day they called and said it's done. Once I got there they handed me the bill of near $1000.00 dollars and guess what, the ABS it was still lit on the dashboard, but this time it needed a EBCM and they quoted me a $3300.00 for this part. I asked why did you charge me over 510.00 for the wheel hub assembly. When I asked why, all they did was say it too, was bad. But the car was fitted with 4 permanent Jacking pucks, I had a flat tire and I went to jack it up, and all 4 jacking pucks were GONE. I had to get my wife to get a set from the garage and bring it to the road site I was on. So on top of the $1000.00 the car is not repaired and they stole property from my vehicle. Never ever go to this gang of thieves ! It's amazing GM allows them to stay in Business, And I sent Mary Barra a letter detailing my Assault and Battery incident. Hope they go out of business Soon so no others have to deal with them.

Garbage
Wish I could give 0 stars. This dealership has the worst service department. I brought my certified vehicle in with issues that was covered under warranty and they straight up said nothing was wrong at all. I drove an hour and a half away to Bridgewater Chevrolet and they were great. They fixed everything that needed fixing and were super knowledgeable and friendly. Do not go to Mall Chevrolet!

Scammers and Poor Customer Service
would not suggest anyone to visit Mall Chevy to have their car serviced. They are rude and will try to scam you to pay additional money. If you have a warranty they will try to find every excuse to find fault with you car ,so that they can overcharge you.

You’ll visit the dealership with one problem and leave with multiple issues. The mechanics are not trustworthy and will take advantage of you.

Plus they broke my glove compartment n my car and refused to fix it. They claimed they never touched it.... a bunch of bull.

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!

Worst Customer Service
I purchased a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe LT from Mall Chevy of Cherry Hill on June 2, 2017. The vehicle was issued a temporary tag with the expiration date of June 22, 2017. I contacted the dealership on the date to inform/inquire about my permanent tag and was told it was an issue with my bank and the title company. After waiting another 5 business days my wife started contacting the dealership and never received a clear answer why the tag had not been issued. I waited another week before I physically went to the dealership and spoke with a sales manager whom stated that the issue was now between my bank, the second owners back and the title company which was a surprise to me because they sold the vehicle under the pretense that I was the second owner. I went to the my bank and was able exclude them from the process. I returned to the dealership and explained to the sales manager that my bank had nothing to do with the title at this point in the process and requested a resolution. I was told I was basically stuck because the second owners bank hadn't release the title, so basically they sold me a car without clearing the title. It's July 13, 2017 and I still do not have my tag. The dealership isn't working with me and I want to return the vehicle but contractually I think I am obligated to keep the vehicle. They mislead me about the number of owners and lied about the location of title which isn't allowing me to register my vehicle. I have a truck that I made a payment for that I can't drive. Not Good!

I love Mall Chevrolet!!!
I called the Service Dept. on a Sat. morning; my check engine light came on. Clay said to bring the truck right in and he would have a tech look into it. He kept me informed and they were able to repair the truck right then and I was on my way. Ray is also AMAZING!!! He has been taking care of us for a few years. He goes way above and beyond to make sure we are taken care of and that we are happy. Everyone is very accommodating. The new waiting area for the service dept. is also very nice. We will always come to Mall Chevrolet and will also recommend to everyone!

Car Maintenance
My concern is high prices. My car's high beams would not stay on. The dianogsis was a multifunction switch. Cost to repair was $543 for parts and $210 for labor for a total of $753. This is the cost for changing a switch? That's a rediculas charge--so I did't have the work done. Also my keyless remote is not working at times. Solution was a new key at $73 and labor of $50. Labor of $50? Are you kidding me? It seems to me that these and other repairs are 2 and 3 times higher than what they should be. This from a company that was on the verge of bankruptcy and then saved by taxpayer like myself.

Staff is friendly and knowledgable and I trust that work is done properly, but I leave feeling like I've been taken for a ride.
