Local, Professional, Friendly Service
I enjoy finding & supporting local service providers. This is officially the longest review that I have ever written in my life. The short versions is "I would absolutely recommend LexTechs after my initial experience with them". If you want the long version, keep reading :-) A running buddy mentioned that he takes their Toyota Sienna to Lextechs, so I decided to give them a shot after having our 2004 Sienna Mini-Van serviced by Toyota dealers for the life of the car. My main need was the 105k routine maintenance. I walked into the office on Wednesday and had an initial conversation with Matthew. I brought in my car the next day and really enjoyed walking my dog home instead of finding a way to get a ride back from the dealer. Matthew's co-worker Houston called me with an update after the inspection that was part of the routine maintenance and reported that the technician had found 4 different leaks, all with different levels of severity. Not a surprise to me, given my history driving 10+ year old cars. What I really liked was how they rated the leaks in a very understandable way, scale of 1 to 10. I interpreted the scale as follows, "10" being no option but to fix it and "1" being no need to fix it now but keep an eye on it. I had one "8", one "4", and two "3"s, for a total of about $2500. Yowsers!! The joy of trying to get the most out of our very well-maintained and reliable family vehicle. Houston was very patient with my many questions as I tried to understand the severity of the issues so that I could approve all or portion of work to be done. Based on my "wiring" and initial understanding of the issues, I opted for what I considered the minimum (routine maintenance, plus fixing the antennae housing, which totaled around $150), and none of the leaks. I wanted to noodle on the leaks a bit longer, review finances with my very logical wife, and come up with a plan relative to an upcoming road trip to Florida. When I picked up the car, Matthew reviewed the leaks with me again to help me clarify what he considered had to be done before he would take a road trip with his family in this car. The dots connected a bit more and resulted in both the "8" & "4" leaks needed to be fixed together ($1800 or so), since they were both part of the cooling system "closed loop". If we only fixed the "8" leak, the pressurized closed loop system would put more pressure on other leaks in the system, which was the "4" and it was the H2O pump & timing belt. Matthew and the team did not have capacity to take me in the next day, which was the last day before our road trip. We had options. 1) Take our 2nd car, which is 4 years old, but much smaller. 2) Take the Van to the dealer, since they always seem to have capacity and could give a 2nd opinion. 3) Rent a bigger car.
Decided to take it to the dealer, who verified the leaks found by LexTechs, quoted very similar pricing, and had the capacity to fix the "8" and "4" leaks. Our van is back in road trip shape! I am grateful to the LexTech's Team.
