Uppipe Repair
Brought in my 95 f350 7.3 powerstroke for a turbo pedestal leak. Had to comeback multiple times because the leak was not fixed. After that, the uppipes were not installed correctly and leaked. Had to bring it back 3 additional times to repair. Leftcoast told me my already upgraded uppipes were the problem and recommended replacing. After replacing with new uppipes, they still leaked. Brought it back again and after a short road trip, they are leaking soot all over my engine bay yet again. Would like a full refund for the new uppipes since they are not the issue.

Dear Andrew ,
Thank you for your feedback. We completely understand your frustration with having to return to the shop, and we apologize for the ongoing stress this situation has caused. Our goal has always been to support you, which is why we have repeatedly absorbed the labor costs under warranty to help get this resolved.
However, we want to clarify the service history and explain the underlying mechanical issue causing these repeating failures. The up-pipes are not failing due to installation error; they are blowing out due to extreme stress from the truck's operational load.
Your 1995 F-350 is carrying a heavy cab-over camper while towing.   This extreme weight forces your 7.3L engine to work significantly harder, creating exceptionally high exhaust gas temperatures (EGTs) and sustained high boost pressure. Even heavy-duty, upgraded up-pipes have thermal and physical limits. The immense heat and pressure generated by hauling that amount of weight are simply overpowering the expansion joints, causing them to crack, fail, and leak soot rapidly.
To clarify the timeline of our work on your vehicle:
October 2025: We performed the initial turbo replacement.
November 2025: You returned for a separate leak, which was an unrelated radiator hose clamp. We heavily discounted the diagnostics to save you money.
February 2026: You returned for an oil leak. We found a leaking turbo pedestal. To take care of you, we warrantied the full labor cost for the Turbo Remove & Replace (R&I) to fix the pedestal.
July 2, 2026: An exhaust leak was found on the lower side of your existing upgraded up-pipes. Because individual aftermarket gaskets were unavailable, we recommended a new heavy-duty pipe kit. We again covered the labor under warranty, and you only paid for the parts kit.
July 16, 2026: The new heavy-duty pipes failed due to the extreme heat and pressure. We fully warrantied and replaced the kit at absolutely no cost to you.

Because the parts were installed correctly but are failing due to the severe external stress and high boost pressure caused by the camper load, we cannot issue a refund for the parts kit.
