Did not stand behind their bid for service
I told them I wanted to have my emergency brake cables changed since I had paid to have them unfrozen twice and said I also wanted a price on changing the emergency brake shoes as well. The vehicle did not need diagnosing but they insisted that they could not give me a price until they had looked at it and when I finally got the bill they had added in a charge for diagnosing . I requested a price for changing the front struts as well. I knew one strut was leaking and the vehicle ride was harsh. Late that afternoon they gave me a total price of $2215 for all the work. I asked Kate the person who gave me the quote to break out the cost of the emergency brake cables and shoes since I did not want to spend that much on the vehicle. Kate indicated that to change the emergency brake cables and shoes would be $514. That appeared to be the average price as checked online for the repair so I told them to go ahead with the repair. They said they would have it ready the next day. By late afternoon the next day I called to pick up the vehicle and referenced I was picking up my Highlander which was in for emergency brake cables and shoes and I was informed by Tammy, the owner's wife they only did the shoes the cables would cost an additional $597.63. Tammy, the owners wife said she did not remember the conversation the way I did but the person who gave me the quote was Kate and she said the $514 included all labor and parts and if there were any additional parts beyond the cables and shoes that would be extra and I told her that was acceptable. There was no room for mis understanding it was as clear as could be. They took advantage of me by giving me one price for the cables and shoes and then later claiming it had only been for a portion of the work. I was always very clear I wanted both the cables and shoes changed and feel they did not deal honestly with me. I would not recommend these people for any vehicle service.
