Terrible - Go Elsewhere!
Service department is an sham. They do NOT communicate at all, do questionable work, and try to rip you off. Plenty of other garages around that will do honest quality work. Don't risk it at Johnson Hyundai.

Great experience!
Yesterday, we bought our second SUV in three years from Johnson Hyundai of Wake Forest. Our salesman, Tony, was the absolute best! Tony was transparent, with no pressure, no gimmicks, tricks, or runaround. We told him what we wanted for our trade-in, and what vehicle we wanted to buy. With a bit of number crunching, and some good old fashioned hagling, we came to a mutual agreement on a new vehicle. The acting G.M. came out of her office and sat and talked with my wife and I for 20 minutes. Totally unheard of... What a great impression she made! We were treated like family members of the Johnson Hyundai clan! Our buying experience was better than 5 star, it was stellar! We will continue to buy all our family vehicles from Johnson Hyundai of Wake Forest!

2024 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Limited
My wife has been going through breast cancer treatment for close to a year now and I wanted to do something positive for her in what has been a miserable year. Yesterday we completed the purchase of a 2024 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Limited. Our Sales person (Martin) and the Sales Manager (Taryn) and the Finance person (Kirby) made the whole experience positive! I feel we received a very fair price and can honestly say we were treated respectfully. Car was ready when we arrived and the entire process from getting instructions on the cars features to the financing was quick. Having dealt with dealers in the past I was concerned that the deal agreed upon via email would change when we arrived at the dealership and there would be a bunch of pressure to purchase things we didn't want. None of that happened and this is why I am taking the time to write a review. I would not hesitate to recommend this dealership to friends and family.

Service department is a mess and no communication
The service department at Johnson Hyundai of Wake Forest was absolutely horrible on my last visit. I had to have my Hyundai Sonata Hybrid towed in for the third time because the "pull over safely and do not drive" light came on. They had my car for over two weeks and I was never contacted by the service consultant except one time when I called and asked the woman who answered the phone to go physically tell him to call me back as soon as he was done with the guest he was talking to. He did call me then but that was days after the diagnostic was ran. He said an oil change would fix the issue so I waited several more days for a simple oil change and wouldn't have gotten done then (over two weeks later) except that I threw a fit because it had been so long. The service manager said he would make sure it got finished that day, he would test drive it and I could pick it up mid afternoon. I called him at 4:45 but had to leave a voicemail because he wasn't answering his phone. I got a TEXT Message a few minutes later telling me "the tech forgot to do it". I called back and threw another fit to get it done that day. When it was done, the service manager couldn't even be bothered to call, I just got text messages. When I did go pick it up, the service department wouldn't even come out to explain anything. All I got were my keys and a post it note that said "customer just needs keys". Nobody told me where my vehicle was or anything else because she didn't know. When I talked to the general manager, he was apologetic but was only able to say he would give me a free oil change because he didn't know how else to compensate me for the unacceptable experience (his words). How about paying my $150 tow bill or something like that. Having to try to borrow a car AND make it to work everyday was extremely difficult and I was never offered a loaner car.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!
DO NOT GO HERE! I have been to this dealership recently and let me tell you... Very unprofessional experience from the sales manager named James. That is an individual who takes more pride in his ego rather than his career. Sitting down with customers to tell them how wrong we were and how right he was when that was not the case. They mis-communicate numbers with you and will end up trying to bang you with more than you agree on. Stay far away from this dealership as it is crooked. Now with that said the Finance Manager who was a young, very professional man who also DID NOT agree with the situation. That young man is going places for sure. He should be in the position that James is in or have someone with the same attitude as the Finance manager to fill that spot. He is an embarrassment to the company.

New Hyundai Customers
We just purchased our first Hyundai! We were only browsing the Hyundai dealership in Wake Forest to see what was on the lot. Our plans were then to peruse other dealerships. And then we met Tony, the most professional, courteous, and friendly sales person we have ever encountered. When all was said and done, we had actually purchased a new Hyundai Santa Fe. Not only were we pleased with our decision to buy the Santa Fe, but we were very pleased with this exceptional dealership. The staff was outstanding- fromTony, to Mike, to James. The whole experience exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend this Hyundai of Wake Forest dealership, not matter how far you have to travel to get here.

Furious about the damage done to my vehicle !!
I came into the dealership today 8/31/23 for a service appointment for my 2021 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy. Some recalls were taken care of as well as a thermostat replaced. All was well until I was 15 minutes from my home in South Hill, VA and my vehicle started overheating and rolling smoke from under the hood. Thankfully, I was able to pull over and get my four children out. I let the vehicle cool down and then got back inside to reach out to Hyundai road side assistance (with whom I waited 2.5 hours on the side of highway 85 waiting for a tow truck) to tow the vehicle back to you all.

My husband came and lifted the hood on the vehicle only to discover that the COOLANT cap was left off during service and coolant sprayed all over everything under the hood, my windshield, my hood, and my roof. Severe damage is done to my practically brand new vehicle and I want to know what can be done to make this right as this is completely unacceptable.

I do not want the vehicle any longer as there is severe and likely long term damage done to the engine.

Oil change
I was there4 hours. Fixed a recall. Said took a while for computer reset. Changed oil good price, I needed my drivers side overhead light changed, they obviously took off and replaced but too back out when I refused to pay 48.00 labor to replace a 2.98 bulb. But what really upset me was the greasey fingerprints all around the light. I had to come on a scrub. Its fabric.

Great Customer Service
Unbelievable service. I was overdue on service on my vehicle and with barely any free time I randomly showed up to see if I could have my car service as a walk-in…well wouldn’t you know that they accommodated my request and it was close to closing time for the service appointment. Went the extra mile and took care of some recall issues associated with my vehicle. Would definitely recommend this dealership and even more their service department. Very happy customer here

New Cars Should Have Current Navigation Maps
My new car did not come with the latest navigation maps and Johnson Hyundai did not update them. I was told to use my home computer to do so, but I only have a Mac and it doesn’t work with the download process.

After speaking with the advisor I know that she guided you through the process but understand your concern. However, I did notice your comment about using a MAC pc and they do offer a version of this software for MAC. I have attached the link. https://update.hyundai.com/US/EN/navigationUpdate. I will be working with our IT department to try and have the newest software added to our tablets but as our team works strictly off tablets I do not know if this will be possible.
