Not what I expected

I took my car to Joel's to be worked on September 12, 2018 and brought it in the night before explaining that I thought it was a sensor (I had originally had OReily's check it. I asked if they thought it could be fixed the next day since I would need it after that. I was told by the man that he thought they could. I didn't hear anything all day and so about an hour before closing time, I called them. I was told that they prepared an estimate but that they couldn't get it done this day. I was disappointed but it became frustration when I went to pick up my car. I was told that I only brought it in for a diagnosis (that word was never used by me or the man I left the car with). Then they charged me $82.89 and gave a receipt but no estimate of what the cost would be for repair except to tell me verbally that it would cost $1000 and take 3 days. My wife had a similar problem with her car and they fixed it for under $300 and we were satisfied. I felt that the guy at the counter was brash and unapologetic, insisting that I had only brought it in for a diagnosis (which I got for free at OReilly's).
