Just want to clarify a few points that have been made here. We did order an ECU from the USA for Brookes car and to cut a long story short after several months we received the part. After it was fitted the car had the same issues after the battery was disconnected. Obviously this was not a satisfactory outcome but we did not get any favourable replies from them to sort this issue out.
In the meantime we eventually found about someone on the gold coast that could re-program these so sent the part down to get this done. This is a relatively new process/ technology not widely available. They re-programed it but when put back in the car it was the same result , it would not work properly after the battery was disconnected. On consultation with them and the program people it was decided we needed to send the car down to them, so it could be done in car. Unfortuneately this was not an option as our car trailer had recently been stolen. We then had to wait till they could make a special trip to here to do the job, approx a 5 hour trip. After re-programming we thought the problem was corrected but a couple of days later the car was having a starting issue again.
Whilst we had the car we also replaced the brakes (new cailper pistons & seals, rotors, discs at a cost of $534) on the car with no charge to Brooke as we found an issue with them whilst testing the car. This repair was delayed due to the fact we could not remove the wheels as the lock nut for them was not in the car. Brookes brother was supposed to drop off the nut but ended up coming to get a sample of the nut and we then had to wait till he came back with the appropriate tool. Meantime we had purchased another trailer so were able to transport it to the Gold Coast.
The comments about Zane having time off for mental issues are totally untrue. His wife was involved in a life threatenly incident and had nearly died as a result of this and had been rushed to hospital for surgery so he was having days off for this which I think is quite understandable in the circumstances.
The condtion of the guard flares and paint is normal wear and tear on these cars, we see it all the time with this model from being exposed to Qld weather. We did supply guard flares for her to replace. As for the subs not working, that had nothing to do with the job we performed as nothing was touched in the back fo the car.
We kept in contact as much as we could and we were constantly apologising for the delays which however were out of our control in most instances.
We take threats to our staff and business seriously and as such will seek legal advice if we deem this necessary.
I purchased a Jeep air con compressor from them and the day it was fitted It blew up. It flung pieces of metal all throughout my car ruining the condenser and a number of other parts. So not only am I out of pocket for numerous parts, but I also have to pay for additional fitting costs. Trying to get my money back for the faulty part they sold me was an absolute nightmare.
The older woman who works there is the RUDEST PERSON I have ever come across. I was very pleasant when I approached her, trying to explain my situation (which I had already discussed with a different employee on the phone), but her behaviour was abrasive, condescending, disrespectful and bordering on abusive. If she is the face of the business, then I can only imagine that they aren't doing too well. She was incredibly nasty.
My recommendation is to steer well clear of Jeepart Recyclers (who also sell Dodge parts). I was able to buy a brand new compressor from eBay for quite a bit less than I paid for the second hand one from this mob. My experience has been hugely negative and has cost me over $1,000 to fix the damage caused by the part I purchased from them.
