I came in on Memorial Day immediately after a poor experience with another dealership and making an appointment over the phone half an hour or so in advance. I don't know if this place is sketchy, but it certainly is weird: no one really spoke to us properly besides our amazing finance person, Ms. Collins; we had to wait hours at a time during the sale and pickup; and the place was god-awful to wait in (blasting music, coffee machine broken on Memorial Day, snacks only from a vending machine). Sure, Memorial Day is busier than most days, but considering they had flyers advertising Memorial Day specials, maybe have a few more salespeople in that day?
The salesperson, Stephanie, was taking care of what seemed like 5 people at once. She didn't really greet us or talk about my needs: she just took down the car I was interested in, my goal monthly payment, and my income and credit. When it came time for a test drive, she just gave us the keys and let us go - didn't try to talk about the car at all, probably because she had so many customers. I appreciate that she wasn't pushy about the sale, but it was really strange being left on our own like that and not knowing much about the car.
Once we made the decision to buy the car (I had done my own research in advance and mostly knew what I wanted), we had to wait for two hours or so to finish the process, even though we had most everything ready to go. When we had a question or something to do that would take more than 30 seconds of her time, she would get up and disappear for 15-20 minutes. I often had to get up and let her know we were waiting for her to come back, and she'd seem surprised. She did not transfer our information properly to the finance person (who was AMAZING, friendly, and super efficient), who had to waste a lot of time doing something that should have taken a few minutes because Stephanie did not tell her we had not yet finalized our insurance.
When it came time to pick up the car the next day, we waited around 45 minutes after being assured multiple times it would be "just 5 more minutes." I would have appreciated just being told to come back in an hour or so rather than have to wait in a dealership that's like the worst of a mall and a doctor's office together.
I don't know if it's incompetence or overwork, but regardless, this place needs some work. The only reason I came here was because they had the Ioniq model I wanted and other locations didn't, and even then, I probably should have driven further away.
