Charges for work that was not done
David Hyland. You screwed me over and you know you did. Unfortunately you are going to get away with it. I feel sorry for you for being dishonest. I don't know how you get good reviews from anyone with your attitude. You seem nice at first but the moment someone complains or questions the work you turn nasty. I'm no dummy, I know exactly what happened and you should be ashamed of yourself. Your a good manipulater .I'll give you that. Have a nice Christmas and think about treating your customers better in the new year

Charges for work that was not done
Very disappointed with the work performed or not performed correctly. I went in for a new alternator and was told the valve cover was leaking oil on it and needed to be fixed as well. They did install a rebuilt alternator. When I took it home the check engine light was on due to an intake manifold leak, I took it back and they did fix that for free. Then a few days later I noticed that oil was still leaking on the alternator so I took it back again and was told to bring it back again next week. In the meantime I went to emissions testing and was informed that there was a recall notice for that same problem. So I took it to the dealership for the recall repair and showed them the invoice from Hyland and asked them to inspect the work Hyland had done 2 months earlier and give me a report if the work had been done properly or even done at all.... the technician at the dealership said the valve cover gaskets was original and had never been replaced. So I called David Hyland the owner of Hyland auto and questioned him about the work and asked for a refund for the work I paid for that was not done. At that point he got very defensive and insisted that everything I paid for was done and that I should have brought the car back to them instead of taking it to the dealership. They seem like nice people and have mostly good reviews but don't be fooled by the friendly attitude. If you have parts replaced always ask for the old parts back because you own them. I'm no dummy I have been fixing my own cars for years until they got to complicated and computerized and I am sure I was charged for work that was not done. I even have a statement from the dealership that says it wasn't done. So my only choice is to let it go and accept a $600 loss of taking them to court to seek reimbursement

Hyland Auto ranks a 5 Star
A hot day driving on Guadalupe Rd. Stopped by a passing train and my car's alternator decides to die. I was rescued by the people at Hyland Auto. In no time, they had a new part installed at a fair price. Customer Service was great. They sent me home in an Uber compliments of their shop then the service manager drove to my home to pick me up and return me to the shop a few hours later. I highly recommend this shop. Extra added attraction - donuts and coffee on the house. Will return there for all my auto needs.

Second time having work done to my car, alot of work. Staff was informative and pleasant as the first time. Work was completed in a timely manner and estimated cost at the beginning was correct.

Knowledgeable and Honest
It was my first time at Hyland Auto today, and it won't be my last. Not only is the team knowledgeable and friendly, they are incredibly honest. I will 100% be using Hyland again for my future auto needs.

Ansolutely trustworthy
I have used Hyland since they opened their doors 18 months ago and couldn't be more pleased with their operation. They are honest, thorough, and priced fairly. I am out of town frequently and it gives me great comfort to know that if there is a problem with our vehicle my wife can go there and not get ripped off.

Long Time Customer
I've been a customer of David Hyland for many years and over that time through experience, learned to trust him in an industry where it's often difficult to believe or trust what you're being told.

He takes the time to discuss any issues he or his technicians find, options, whether it's a "must fix now" or if the repair can be scheduled for a later date. Price/cost estimates are reasonable and there are no surprises (expect a few times, the final cost was somewhat less than initially quoted) at pick up time.

I take meticulous care of my cars and Dave's the one I trust to keep me and my family safe.

David said this business completed the additional work he wanted done. They went above and beyond to fix what they were supposed to fix. They did a few additional repairs that were costly, but he did not have to pay out of pocket. They helped him out by replacing other items free of charge. He thanks them for everything and he appreciates all that was done for him.
