RUDE AS HELL
I HAD THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. YESTERDAY I BROUGHT MY CAR IN FOR SERVICE AND FELT LIKE I WAS MET BY THE DEVIL HIMSELF. THE YOUNG MAN WAS ACTING LIKE HE HAD SOME TYPE OF PROBLEM FROM THE VERY BEGINNING WITH A RUDENESS I'VE NEVER EXPERIENCE BEFORE AS A CUSTOMER, ESPECIALLY WHEN I ASKED IF I COULD REDEEM THE COUPONS I HAD PRINTED FROM THEIR WEBSITE. FIRST, HE CLAIMED HE DIDN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE COUPONS THEN HE CLAIMED THEY WERE NOT COUPONS, (I TOOK OFENSE, BECAUSE I FELT LIKE HE WAS IMPLYING THAT I WAS COMMITING FRAUD, TO SAVE WHAT $10 WHEN) I STATED THAT THEY WERE COUPONS AND THAT I GOT THEM FROM THE COMPANY WEBSITE, ASKED HIM TO PULL UP THE WEBSITE TO SEE THAT THEY WERE COUPONS, THEN HE MADE THE COMMIT ABOUT IT'S JUST $10, WHICH MADE ME FEEL LIKE I WAS TRYING TO USE FOOD STAMPS TO GET A DISCOUNT ON SERVICE WHICH IS TOO DARN HIGH ANYWAY SO I FIGURE EVERY DIME I SAVE IS GOOD FOR ME HE WAS ACTING IMPATIENT AND COMBATIVE WHICH BRINGS OUT THE WORST IN ME FOR SOMEONE ESPECIALLY YOUNG FOLKS WHO CAN'T KEEP THEIR MOUTH SHUT ALWAYS WANT TO HAVE THE LAST WORD AND KEEP TALKING BACK LOOKING IN HIS EYES, I SAW A DEMONIC SPIRIT SQUIRIMING AROUND TO CREATE HAVOC. AFTER GOING BACK AND FORTH ABOUT THE COUPONS THAT HE CLEARLY DID NOT WANT TO HONOR, HE TELLS ME THAT THE COUPONS ARE ONLY FOR CUSTOMERS WHO PURCHASE THEIR CARS AT THEIR ESTABLISHMENT. AND THAT COUPON FOR A COMPLEMENTARY MAINTENANCE IS FOR A NEW CAR ONLY???? WHY WOULD I NEED MAINTENANCE ON A NEW CAR, I ASK IT MADE NO SENSE. BEFORE HE HAD A CHANCE TO TELL ANOTHER LIE, ANOTHER YOUNG MAN DIVERTED THE SITUATION AND STARTED QUOTING THE OUTRAGEOUS PRICES THAT HYUNDAI IS KNOWN FOR WHEN IT COMES TO SERVICE, SO I TOOK MY CAR AND WILL SELL THE DARN THING BECAUSE SINCE I'VE THIS 2019 A BIT OVER 34,000 MILES I'VE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH IT 2 RECALLS OR WAS IT 3 I FORGET SHOULDN'T OF HAD ANY AS MANY PROBLEMS WITH A NEW CAR, I PURCHASED IN CALIFORNIA I BELIEVED THEY SOLD ME A LEMON SO I AM GOING TO SELL IT AND PURCHASE AN AMERICAN CAR, PRESIDENT TRUMP STATES NO TAXES ON INTEREST IF WE PURCHASE AN AMERICAN CAR SO I'M PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN IN EVERYTHING I DO I AM DONE WITH POOR SERVICE AND BEING TREATED POORLY AND HAVING TO KEEP TAKING MY CAR TO THE DOCTOR, IT MAKES ME SICK. Well since my last experience with Happy Hyundai my experience has gotten worse. I was promised a referral check of $200 because I brought my wife in and she got a brand new car and was told if I take down my bad review of the bad service I received previously that they would refund the $91 they charged me for an oil change that I shouldn’t have paid for because it’s 3 years complimentary maintenance. I was told they would just make the check an even $300. So we were there today I inquired about the check to the salesman that said I’d get the $300 check. He went to go check with the manager came back saying the review is still there and I said when I see the check in front of me I’ll take it down. So now he shows me a picture of the check and it was for only $200. When I asked about it he said to me that well that’s the service department and we can’t do anything basically. So if it’s the service department why are you a salesman so concerned about the review I gave the service department. Any way he told. But I can still get the $200 check if I take the review down. So I looked at the salesman and told him i was good. Keep the check. It’s not the money it’s the principle. Another lie and act of being deceitful. First of all I was supposed to get the $200 check because I brought in a customer and they bought a brand new car. So regardless of the review they should’ve given it to me. I love Hyundai cars but please take caution when dealing with Happy Hyundai. Please please please read your contract and ask VERY DETAILED QUESTIONS both in the service department and sales department cause if you don’t get treated like I did and the 2 departments will be blaming each other and you’ll be very unsatisfied and upset because you can’t get anywhere because they’re blaming each other. So if you do go here once again PLEASE USE CAUTION!

Beware buyers and owner’s
Purchased 2 vehicles from this dealership last year brand new 1 for me and the wife. First I purchased the tire extended warranty that covered nothing. So far I’ve shelled out almost $600 for 2 tires since last year. Then the dealership tried to charge me for a faulty radio/infotainment system in the car as I updated according to the the manufactures guide I did my truck but the wife’s car wouldn’t take the update so til it to the dealership ace was told I would have to pay for the update to see if it’s the system which made no sense to me and if it wasn’t the system if be refunded. So I tips them to install and run the system test then I’ll pay if it’s not the system in which it was the system and they looked silly and it took them a total of 6 1/2 hours and they never came and gave an update or anything but just came to me and said oh you need a new radio we’ve got to order it and we’ll call even it gets in which was almost a month oh on top of that I had to call to see if it was in. Ava after all that waiting not even a discount on the work i was getting done on both cars. Then today my car is supposed to get free complimentary maintenance for 3 years which are just oil changes and tire rotations. But today they told me I didn’t have enough miles for the free oil change. Hyundai recommends oil changes every 7500 miles but the sticker they put in the window last oil change didn’t say that and I asked why because they the dealership recommend oil change every 3450 mile’s I asked why and was told because it’s Illinois which makes no sense I drive my truck to and from work only the truck was bought February 2022 brand new and all i have is 19000 miles on the car so I don’t drive the car hard it out a lot of miles on it. To make a long story short I ended up paying almost $100 for an oil change the was supposed to be complimentary. Was told too talk to the salesman about the maintenance plan I purchased and I said I didn’t purchase a plan I bought the truck brand new and it comes with 3 years complimentary maintenance and they just looked crazy. Buyers and owners please beware take caution when going to this dealership. Don’t trust them.

I've been here a few times for service. Always impressed with the level of service I receive here. Had a few tires replaced. Vince K. Was very helpful and responded to my email questions right away. Very professional. I came in with the tow truck driver and my car wasn't going to be ready that day so Jayden gave me a ride home. I'm amazed at how clean that place is ! Thanks Happy.

Nicole Hendricks is an asset to dealership.
I came to this on July 29th because the air conditioner was not working on my 2021 Palisade. Long story short compressor went bad and was covered under warranty. Part was on order and service advisor sent me a text and told me the part would be in on August 5th and to ask for Nick Hayes because he was aware of the situation. To my surprise on 5th when I went in, the part wasn't in and Nick knew nothing about me coming in. The part was on back order and there was no eta. At that point, I was furious. The temperature was going up the following and I called off work to bring in my vehicle to no part being there. That's when Nicole Hendricks came to rescue. She got me a loaner car and was able to calm me down with her professionalism. She apologized on behalf of the dealership which was above and beyond because she didn't cause the problem. When it was time to trade out my loaner because the part still wasn't in, it was a quick and easy process. My advice for this dealership is to find more professionals like Nicole, then maybe customer reviews might be more positive.

So many things are wrong with this place. The lie, are very rude and have no interest in treating you like "family" like they claim. Unless it's one hell of a dysfunctional family. They have ridiculous hidden fees, they definitely do not have the lowest prices around. Just trust me and go anywhere else but here.

My daughter was getting her first car she did her research and found a car at this so called factory franchise dealer in oak lawn. They are part of the Jim spellman change of stores that includes Libertyville Hyundai, Libertyville Chevy, Gurnee doge and DuPage chry and this building of unprofessional and unethical amateur sales people. They will make you pay for “dealer add ons” in the state of Illinois you have the right to refuse, with out prejudice for loss of the sale unless your at unhappy Hyundai or another Spellman ran sleezy stealer store.
2 sales managers a sales associate and a FI manager all participated in this failure of judgement. Skip the attractive price posted it’s false and doesn’t include the hidden add ons that are simple over charge and have no value for customer or car that they won’t remove, and if you don’t take them you don’t take the car regardless of credit or cash.
True slime balls run this store, Webb and Napleton stores are just down the block try them.

happy stealership

Service department does damage to car, 2 months later still waiting to have it fixed
Brought my car in for service 11/18/2022, when I picked my car up I noticed damage to the drivers side door. When I brought it to the service writers attention, he asked the mechanic if the damage occurred during service and he admitted it was. No one from Hyundai informed me of the damage, they were just going to let me drive away without saying a word. They agreed to repair the body damage. When I contacted them a day later I was told the earliest appointment for the body shop was Jan. 11, 2023, nearly 2 months after the incident. Today Jan. 9, 2023 I am informed that they body shop is now "backed up" and my car can not be fixed until late January. I did not cause the damage to my car and Hyundai is dragging their feet getting it fixed. I called Happy Hyundai to speak with the owner and no one can tell me who that is. I get transferred to a "department that can help", although I'm not told what department or person I am being transferred to. I leave messages and yet no one calls me back. I believe this car dealership has no idea what service is or what HAPPY means.
