Fair and honest business
I have done business with Skip on numerous occasions both buying and selling. Like us all I wanted a little more for what I sold and a little less for what I paid. However I always felt I got a fair deal. I would encourage anyone to go there A brick and mortar store for precious metals is becoming a rarity. Please support this business especially now that metals have been rising. We all need a safe, fair, and honest place to go. High recommend!!

Avoid this coin dealer
I would have to say, in my 40 years is a coin collector this is the crudest and most disrespectful encounter that I have experienced: After years of successfully buying coins at Golden Isles coins, I brought in four high grade coins, in NGC or PCGS holders. The shopkeeper told me he had to send pictures to a remote buyer who would make an offer.
After waiting more than 20 minutes, the buyer’s first offer for the first coin was a bit low and I said ‘that one would be too low.” Thereupon the remote buyer told the shopkeeper he had no interest in discussing the other three coins. “If he won't agree to this price for the first coin, I don't care to discuss the others.”
I told the shopkeeper that his response made no sense whatsoever: I bought each of the coins at different times, for different prices, and I had different sales figures in mind. That was of no interest to the remote buyer.
At that point I left the shop, and concluded that I will not return. The rudeness and utter crassness of such an exchange defies logic. Think of it, on the first coin when you decide that you’d prefer not to sel at the price offered, all three of the other coins are dismissed – no discussion, no nothing, you can leave now.
Sell your coins here at your own risk. Seller beware.

Best coin & bullion dealer around.
I just wanna say thank you to Skip at Golden Isle coins. Dont waste your time going to other places
Sold my grandmothers diamond ring for $600 more than anyone else in the triangle. I went in, they took the time to explain that they primarily deal in wholesale diamonds, and that when it comes to recycling jewelry or diamonds and jewels it gave them an edge over all of their competition. They explained the cut color and clarity and whats in demand. Very good experience will tell friends

My go to place!
I recommend anyone looking to buy or sell jewelry/coins to come here! I have been going to golden isles for a few years now, they have the best prices i have found in all of Raleigh. Everyone one there is great and i plan on doing much more business with them in the future!

Highest Paid in Raleigh on my Rare Coins
After shopping around to many places, I realized that Golden Isles paid the highest prices on my Rare Graded St Gauden and Capped Bust Half dollar collection. They were 15% higher than my highest quote at another coin shop in town. Two Thumbs Up!

You won't find better deals.
I have done business at this establishment for years and they are without a doubt the best coin shop I have been in. Whether you are buying or selling they can accommodate your needs. Just understand they buy and sell on weight only, so if you expect more for your grandma's fine jewelry or dad's graded coins you might be out of luck. If you want to sell your collection of nickels and quarters you might get turned away. But for gold, silver and platinum bullion you can't do better, highly recommend.

Dishonest and rude
One of the owners lied to me about the value of a coin in order to void a purchase I was making, then proceeded to insult me when I called him on it. I rarely complain about service -- everyone has a bad day now and then -- but this, I believe, was willfull dishonesty. And he was without doubt needlessly rude.
