Terrible experience, will never do business with them.
Was vehicle shopping with my wife on Saturday. Looked at several vehicles when she saw the Genesis G70 and immediately loved it. We test drove the 3.3t and then asked if we could drive a 2.0t. Because of the heat, our salesperson politely asked us to wait inside while he parked the 3.3 and then checked to see if there was a 2.0 available. When we walked inside we saw the color combination she wanted in the showroom. Long story short, we were told there would be a $1,000 mark up over MSRP because of demand and we could bring our trade in on Monday to be evaluated and then would work out a deal. My wife brought in our vehicle on Monday (over an hour drive to get there) to be evaluated. While she was there, we also found out the G70 had been driven by an employee's wife and it had a couple thousand miles on it. They offered us 6k less than another dealership for our trade. She said thank you and left. I made one phone call and we sold our vehicle outright to another dealership for the 6k difference. Since she loved the vehicle, I called Roy back and told him this. I told him since the vehicle has miles on it (and I had found one in another state identical to it and they offered $1,000 off MSRP because of the mileage) if they were offering any discounts as well. He said no at first and then said he would call me back. He called back, asked me to come in on Wednesday morning since he would be off on Tuesday, and said it would look more serious if I were in person to be able to convince management. I agreed to meet him Wednesday morning. He then calls me back a little while later and tells me they will not sell me the vehicle unless I finance through them (as they knew I already had financing lined up). I told him I was not interested at this point. So now, on Tuesday afternoon, I called the Sales Manager who's name was Mike, I believe, to verify this since my wife said they told her at the dealership it was preferred, not mandatory. Mike said yes that was the case that since "I pulled the trade from them," they will not sell me the vehicle unless I finance through them because they are trying to keep their doors open and an inventory on the lot. They refused to negotiate at all for my trade prior to me selling it telling my wife the price is what it is and if we can get better from someone else then we should see if they'll buy it. Throughout the entire ordeal I felt as if they had no interest in selling the car and my wife felt the same way. I have never experienced anything like this and the three other dealerships I'm talking to have not had this requirement. I am so perplexed and disappointed in this experience that I am writing this review. This is actually the first negative review I have ever written. Don't do business with O'Brien Genesis in Bloomington. I would give them zero stars if able.
