BEWARE of the WHITE PAINT issues
DON’T EXPECT ANY SERVICE…
First off, I never write negative reviews…this is the first.
My issue I suspect is pretty common and I’ll explain…
I have an Elantra with less than 100k miles on it, but it’s older and the paint (white) on the hood has failed and started peeling.
The “Service” department asked me to come in to see if Hyundai would cover any of the cost of repainting. So far so good.
After going to the dealership and submitting pictures, I receive a call that Hyundai corporate will cover 60% of the cost of repainting my hood. (OK, that sounds reasonable! And is probably a goodwill gesture since Hyundai has a class action suit against them for white paint failing. The body shops I checked with immediately recognized the problem because it’s so common.)
So, what’s the issue?
The FUTURE Hyundai of Concord dealership left a message that said the “offer” was time sensitive and that MY portion of repainting the car would be over $1222.00. I called back to try to clarify, and it took 3 calls over several weeks to get them to respond and when they did they said my offer expires in two days. That’s totally not helpful and felt like a high-pressure tactic to get me to agree…sounds like an offer…60% reduction, right?
So, I assumed that if an offer was for 60% of the cost of getting the paint fixed that I could use any service. NO! They will only honor that “warranty” if I use their provider. That’s the issue…
My two quotes for fixing the paint job on my hood (which was described in exactly the same way as the dealer, striping the old paint and repriming with a base coat before color matching the white) were $500 and $1100.
So the “WARRANTY” price was actually NO SERVICE at all…it was essentially me paying a PREMIUM.
I call that total B.S. It’s too bad. I was thinking about buying another Hyundai and that’s off the table for me. I don’t want to deal with a Dealership that is set up to pillage their customers and call it service.

The Service department isn't very trustworthy
This review is for the service department at Hyundai of Concord in Concord CA.
It is for the service department as well as a service writer named Maribel. She is the reason i decided to write a review. I had the worst experience with her last week and it was extremely disappointing. She was rude and she was even a little argumentative/confrontational, because i questioned something and asked to speak to the mechanic who diagnosed my car issue because my husband had some questions.
Her reply to me was "why", why do you want to talk to him?" It was shocking. Then she said to me "he's not going to tell you anything different then i just told you"
Well maybe not, but that is not how you speak to your customers.
She has a habit of cutting you off mid sentence, if she wasn't hearing what she wanted to hear.
She called after lunch and was very pushy but after dealing with her, i decided not to have any work done there so when I told her I wasn't going to have it done there, that I would be picking my car up today, she was irritated.
She said "well you will need to pay us the $200 diagnostic fee before you get your car back".
$200 to tell me i needed brake pads. Come on!! I was not going to pay that.
I think the service manager new that was not right, so he was kind enough to waive the $200 diagnostic fee for me.
The service manager has been professional and accommodating and tries to make things right, but Maribel is your 1st point of contact and its not a very good one, and not how you want your business represented.
They all need to stop trying to over sell services and focus on customer service and then they won't have to sell service, it will happen naturally if the customers are taken care of...
Lastly, the response to customer reviews on google and elsewhere that's supposedly "from the owner" is a generic response so he probably never even sees these and if he does, he doesnt care enough to reach out to discuss anything..

No reply :( poor receptionist
Dear Hyundai Team,
I tried to contact you this morning because I need an invoice from you in order for my insurance to send me a check to me to be able to order my glass and the installation on my Ionic 5 2022 The VIN number on my car is KM8KNDAF2NU108068 =) the FRONT DRIVER SIDE WINDOW is cracked and needs to be replaced by a new one and installed. My insurance, State Farm, has told me to give you a call and ask you to email me the total invoice + tax and service for the Glass and the installation. State farm will issue me a check and then I will be able to go to your office and order the part with you.

This cannot be so difficult, I have tried to contact you but really the girl who has answering the phone seems that she does not like her job and she is not willing to help. I am also working in the field of Customer Relations and …..If the client who called, does have “an accent”, then you should speak clear English, especially if the client is not an English speaker. This is what you should call really excellent “customer service”. The receptionist did not make any effort to explain herself and when I told her to be clear that I could not understand. Then she just put me on hold forever and needed to hang up and called again...then she didi not even answered the phone but put me on hold
forever again. I think she is working in the wrong industry.

Please, I need a Manager to give me a call at 305 799 6354 ASAP because this need to be done.

Excellent Service at the Service Center
Futures Hyundai is the place to take your Hyundai vehicle for service. Maribel was my advisor and she was professional throughout the entire process of my car getting diagnosed. She let me know when she would be going to lunch and that she would be getting in contact with me when she returned for any update status. Advisors at other Hyundai dealerships promise they will do this and never do. The customer ends up having to call. Also, they have the best mechanic foreman, Jefte. I have known him for a few years and he has always be honest-> something you don't find at the majority other dealership repair centers. Plus, you don't have to wait 1+ month to make an appointment. I got mine 1 1/2 weeks out. Lastly, just a few walking blocks from the dealership, there is a shopping center(Veranda) and a movie theater, so you are not stuck waiting at the dealership being bored.
Now, on the minus side, I do wish they had tables in their waiting area for people who have laptops. I didn't check if they offered free wifi, but I didn't see any signs posted so I assume no. There is a TV and a machine that offers free coffee and latte's. Be careful though because the lattes come with a lot of sugar! I am waiting for a survey to be sent to me so I can give Kudos to Maribel and Jefte.

Went to dealership to get a problem solved. Although they could not find anything wrong, the staff in service department were very helpful and very informative throughout the whole process. Kept me up to date every day and explained everything that was going on which was very much appreciated. Great service from service department.

Major Engine Repair
My vehicle a 2011 Tucson needed a new camshaft and gearing. It would be expensive. However the car was only a few thousand miles out of warranty and the service rep appealed to Hyundai corporate and as a result the one third of the repair was pick-up by Hyundai. My service rep Maribel was attentive, communicated well and went the extra mile to appeal Hyundai corporate to off set part of the repair cost. Tip of the hat to the repair team.

Each time I have been there, you answer the questions I have and are willing to take an extra look if I have a concern regarding something on the vehicle or the information. Maribel is great at her job, and I appreciate that. She consults with the techs if I have extra concerns regarding something.
Concord interacts with their customers and gives updates on a more consistent basis that my other car dealership.

Haleys amazing at Concord Hyundai
I was very happy with my service all in all 10 out of 10 would recommend to everybody that has a Hyundai or they just wants a very good dealership and mechanics I can’t explain how exceptional Haley was with her customer service absolutely awesome Was is in and out within 45 minutes and also got another problem taken care of that I wasn’t even there for and how he set up an appointment and fixed everything for me and awesome just awesome
