On the recommendation of my father I took my 2011 Equinox to Friendly Auto Center after it overheated. After they diagnosed the problem they informed me that they found a dealer service recall (my warranty expired) for the part that was broken. For a small diagnostic fee and towing I got the problem fixed FREE.
20 minutes after picking my car up from the dealership the check engine light went back on. The dealer diagnosed the problem and told me it was not at all related to the previous fix so the total would be around $700. I declined their service to take it back to Friendly's. I got a call soon after from Steve the owner and he informed me that in order to complete the previous work the "newly broken" part needed to be removed and that this was a problem caused by the dealer. He recommended that I call and speak to a service manager and gave me terms to use to sound knowledgeable. I called the dealership and within 10 minutes the service manager agreed to not only fix my car for FREE but he agreed to pay have it towed from Friendly's to to the dealership. Steve was nothing but thrilled to hear that they agreed to fix their mistake. I would have never known about the service recall or the process that broke the second part. Due to Friendly Auto Center's selflessness I got 2 parts fixed by the dealership for FREE when I very easily could have paid over $1,000 in repairs. Amazing experience with them and I won't go anywhere else.
