Went here to get my car's A/C system checked out since it wasn't working and was told they offer a full service and leak check for $99. They were able to squeeze me in but after being informed that my compressor needed to be changed--at a cost of around $7,000--they tried charging me $150 for the service. Perhaps they tried charging me extra because I have an expensive car? They honored the original price after I told them I was quoted the $99, but I went to another shop for a second opinion who found out that the compressor was NOT at fault. That shop found an error code using a vagcom, which identified the issue as a high pressure switch and confirmed via a static pressure test. A $30 part fixed my A/C and saved me form spending $6,970 on a compressor I didn't need.
Also worth noting is that Destin Imports would not let me observe my car being worked on, which now I believe is because I would have been able to tell that they were not doing a full leak check or in-depth diagnostic. I fear for those who don't know as much about cars as I do and would simply fork over the money to fix their car----hence this warning review. Needless to say, I will not be bringing any of our cars to Destin Imports in the future.
