If I lived across the street from the Deacon Jones Hyundai Service Department and the next nearest Hyundai Dealership was 100 miles away, I would drive the 100 miles before Deacon Jones Hyundai service department would ever touch my car again. I would not believe anything they tell you. I took my Hyundai Sonata Hybrid to them for a diagnosis. My Hybrid System warning light and the audible alarm was on. I was charged $242 for a diagnosis. The service department manager told me I neeeded a new generator and belts. The cost of the generator was $1500 and the labor was $1000. The total quote including belts, taxes, and shop supplies was $3100. I declined to have it done because I was skeptical of the diagnosis by the "professionals". I went to NAPA auto parts and bought a new serpentine belt for my Sonata Hybrid and installed it myself. All the hybrid system warnings immediately stopped and the car has been running perfectly since. My total cost to repair my car was $52.18 for a serpentine belt. I have no confidence in the Deacon Jones Hyundai Dealership Service Department.
Edit: Called and talked with the General Manager of Deacon Jones at their posted request. He asked me if the belt I replaced fixed all of my cars issues that I was having. I told him the belt change I did repaired all of the issues, no warning lights, no audible alarm, and no diagnostic codes. He said he was glad I got my car fixed and that he would talk to the person that said I needed a generator replaced. I felt like he should have refunded my $242 diagnosis charge for the totally false diagnosis I received. I standby my initial post....never again
