IF YOU CAN GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, DO!
Let me tell you about the worst car shop I’ve ever dealt with. I’m talking about “Dave’s Complete Auto Service”. I recently called them to get an estimate on a clutch replacement. They quoted a price, which seemed low. I then noticed that it did not include the cost of one of the major parts. I asked why it was not included, and they said that was not always necessary to replace it. At which point I said that it should be added to the estimate, due to the perceived condition of my clutch. Once the cost was added they were still lower than many of their competitors. That being said I decided to go ahead and have the work done. Early the next morning they called me to tell me that my clutch had parts that were worn out and needed to be replaced. I said I know that’s why you are replacing the clutch. They then told me that those parts were not included in the estimate and, that I would have to pay more. After that conversation I called the other shops that had given me estimates. I asked if they included those parts in their estimates, to which they all said that they were not only included but came with the replacement clutch kit. I don’t know how Dave’s was the only shop out of ten that didn’t see that as a standard part of replacing the clutch. It must be one of two reasons. Either Miles, the manager is ignorant of what goes into repairing a car, or he is flat out liar. I’m leaning towards liar. Over all “dave’s complete Auto Service” should be regarded as dishonest. Go somewhere else. you'll be glade you did.
