I told them my heater wasn't working and that I was pretty sure it just needed a radiator and heater core flush as I have never flushed it, with 147K miles. I get a call that I need to spend $1000 on a new heater core, because it won't transfer heat anymore. they also tell me that my Intake manifold has a "moderate" leak. Well my fiance' flushed the heater core and replaced the antifreeze. Guess what? My heater works like it did when my car was new. And I have yet to lose an ounce of antifreeze from this "supposed" leak. I guess they figured since I'm a girl, they could make an easy $1000. Too bad I know about mechanics.
