Today I brought my car in so they could fix the issue. After my car was looked at, I was told by the receptionist that Joe, the mechanic, said that the switch they replaced is working fine, therefore the issue is being caused by something else and they would have to charge me to look any further into the problem. I was given an estimate for over $500 to replace the motor in the driver door panel.
I explained that my windows were actually going up and down (just slowly) before I brought my car to them. They didn’t feel in any way responsible and have cleared themselves of any liability by stating that the part they replaced is not faulty therefore it could not have been something they did wrong.
I asked multiple times if there was anything they could do, considering the fact that my windows were working before I brought my car to this shop. Each time I was told no and then given estimates/costs for future visits.
I asked to speak with the manager Rachel but she wasn’t there. I was not treated as a valued customer, possibly because of my skin color or maybe because I wasn’t someone they were getting enough money from. I came to this shop to get my windows fixed, I paid for their services and left with my driver side window not working at all. They failed to properly diagnose the root of the problem the first time around and now I am left dealing with a window that doesn’t work and no warranty.
I highly recommend going somewhere else where the person who works on your car is actually willing to speak to customers and take responsibility for a crappy job. They are very obviously only motivated by money.
