We had been having problems replacing the power steering pump because they kept turning bad, or maybe it was because we were not familiar with the installation, including priming, etc. One of the major problems I think was the pressure sensing switch which we had to take from the old pump and put it into the new pump. I could not understand why O'Reilly or Auto Zone could not provide me with a complete pump.
So I finally decided to take it to Chelmont Auto. One of the things they explained to me was that, yes, the pressure sensor switches had been the source of many problems and that now a days they are being bypassed. Well, as soon as that was done, that is, eliminating the pressure sensor switch, the pump started working as expected. I
Now the truck is so easy to steer, it's incredible. I am glad we took it to Chelmont Auto before exchanging many more pumps and wasting a lot more time. And the charges were very reasonable. I will definitely recommend Chelmont Auto to all my friends.
It was a good decision as they were able to install the pump and make it work.
