2 poor repairs in the past 5 months; you decide!
I was very disappointed that the starter they installed on my 2004 Honda CR-V this morning made weird noises that did not sound right when I started my car when leaving their parking lot. I had to leave my CR-V again for them to check it out. I call them 5 hours later and they tell me that that had to order a new starter that will arrive tomorrow. I find it hard to believe that that their mechanic who installed the replacement starter this morning did not hear those weird noises after he installed the starter.

Here's a little bit of history on that starter problem on my 2004 Honda CR-V. That starter that went bad yesterday is actually the starter that they put in back in October of 2013. Yes, after only 5 months it's still under warranty and I didn't have to pay anything today. But the hassle of standing out on the street in the deep freeze and having to have my car towed back to their repair shop at my expense is a bit of a pain, especially since they would've installed 3 starters in my car in the last 5 months; two of them in the past two days. Granted, starters do go bad before their expected life expectancy due maybe to manufacturer's defect, but you think they would've put a better starter today since the starter they put in last October only lasted 5 months.

It is unfortunate and a big inconvienience when a part fails. Because of the type repair for the starter on this vehicle being located under the intake manifold a factory part was used. Alot of car dealers are backed up for weeks because parts on new cars fail. The parts industry has made it harder for automotive business and for customers also. Sorry for the bad experience
