Very poor communication
My repair was fine, but communication with this shop was terrible. Claimed we opted out of texts/emails, which we did not. “They could not fix their system” to send us updates via text, but we got a text later for a survey (hmmm). Was promised a phone call/ email on a specific day for an update, never got one and no one answered the phone 15 minutes before closing when I called. We live out of town, so needed time to arrange to get back to pick up the car, which they were told many times. Kept giving me a “under the best case scenario” timeframe. Then called me on Friday at noon to tell me the car would be done at 1:30. Not open Sat or Sunday either,

Good repairs, but having someone stole my cart from trunk

Good experience, solid
Jay and the front desk person (I forgot her name) were great - they explained the process, gave me updates on the progress, and were very accommodating when I had to change dates/times for dropping off. Plus I got the car back several days earlier than they had estimated. I was going through insurance, so I can't speak to cost. I'll definitely consider going to them again if I need repairs.

Great work, helpful service, good communication
Consistent with previous experiences I've had here, the work was excellent, and communication was wonderful throughout. Two notes: 1) they are in high demand, so your scheduled service may be months from when you get your estimate, and 2) the front desk is rarely staffed (based on six separate experiences), so even if you arrive at your appointment time, allow an additional 30-40 minutes during drop off, pick-up, or during a visit for an estimate, because you'll probably wait 20-30 minutes just at the front desk before anyone stops by to help you. Once they do, though, all other aspects of the visit will go really quickly and the rest of the team there is amazing!

The repair was done on time and for the amount agreed upon! And the repair looks like it had never happened!

2017 Outback Owner
I didn’t know anything about this repair facility. Was told by my insurer to take it in for an estimate of the repair costs. Decided to have the shop do the repairs. Pleased with the repairs and turnaround time.

Poor Experience at CarStar
My car was returned in a poor state. The interior was covered in dust, passenger door handle covered in goo, and a aerosol can left in the engine bay under the battery.

Very poor communication, car came back with scratches
The shop did a poor job communicating their progress. They use a system that sent me texts like "we're almost done!", when in fact the shop was waiting on a backordered part. They told me the system is new and doesn't provide accurate information. If that's the case, I 'd have expected a phone call from the shop telling me the real state of things. Instead I had to call them myself every time their estimated completion date would approach. Only to be told that it will be another 2 weeks. All in all, the repair took them 2.5 months. In this time they maybe called me once, and gave me at least 4 completion dates that they failed to meet, and didn't bother to tell me so.

Also, the car came back with a new scratch, which the shop refused to take responsibility for. They didn't give me a copy of the pre-repair inspection sheet, which gave them plausible deniability. You can mark any kind of damage on that sheet once it has the customer's signature.

Unfortunately I can't recommend this business, and I won't be back.

driver side mirror replacement
The repair done on my car was excellent but scheduling and communication during the repair was terrible. I called 5 times and mostly got vague answers as to when or if my car would be repaired. Twice my estimator said he would call me back and never did.
