They frankly tried to rip us off. The quote was for $1,700. We compared it to other collision / auto-body shops around Charlottesville and realized it was the best price for the work, and trusted they'd do a better job than some of the non-Subaru-certified shops. We were paying out of pocket as this was the result of a driveway accident, not a collision. Shortly after dropping the car off, they sent a revised estimate of $2,019. I agreed to move forward at that price. After they'd fixed it, I was informed the price would be $3019. When I asked about the $1,000 jump, Jorge Teran said he'd forgotten to add the service charges to his estimate. He asked why we cared since we were going through insurance. When I reminded him we weren't, he spoke with his manager and said "I cannot do them for free. We did lower the price a bit" to $2,809. A friend's parent sent a strongly worded email and the price was suddenly. . . back to $2089. It should not take strongly worded emails to avoid being scammed. I will be informing other people to NOT use this shop.
