Great Experience with the Sales Department
I would like to commend the staff at Bowser for their exceptional customer service. I purchased my car through Amazon and arranged for pickup at Bowser. After deciding to cancel my initial purchase and opt for a different trim, the Bowser team efficiently assisted me with the cancellation process and facilitated the purchase of the new trim. Additionally, they helped me secure insurance, ensuring I could pick up my car on time. Overall it was a wonderful experience.

I have a 2013 Hyundai Elantra and I had my Vehicle Serviced there all the time. Oil changes Car Inspections, Brakes when they needed done. When I made my last appointment, On 8/22/2023, it took almost a month and a half to have my Car Serviced. I have been having a clicking sound with my Steering Wheel Since 2021. Since it took a long time to make a appointment with Bowser, I made a appointment with another place ON APRIL 18TH 2024. The mechanic wrote on the Receipt a Recommendation that the Vehicle IS STARTING TO BECOME UNSAFE TO DRIVE- STEERING COUPLER NEEDS REPLACED { ASAP}. So I called Bowser and Talked to the SERVICE MANAGER about this ON APRIL 24TH. He told me that HYUNDAI HAD EXTENDED SOME TYPE OF Warranty ON THE STEERING COUPLING ISSUE. He told me that I did not Qualify for this cause the time expired. I had this problem 3 years ago I THOUGHT THIS NOISE WAS FROM HITTING SOME POTHOLES, and nobody at BOWSER SAID THIS WAS A ISSUE. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THEY ARE NOT ALOUD TO. WHAT GOOD IS IT GOING TO HAVE YOU'RE CAR SERVICED HERE AT BOWSER WHEN THEY WILL NOT MAKE A RECOMMENDATION TO HAVE SOMETHING FIXED TO KEEP YOU SAFE IN YOU'RE CAR. I WILL NEVER BUY A CAR OR ANYTHING ELSE AT BOWSER, AGAIN PERIOD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vague/inconsistent, explanation for a diagnostic fee that doubled the labor cost for the same effort
I called Bowser Hyundai (twice) because the A/C belt on my 2010 Hyundai Elantra was squealing and nothing about a diagnostic fee was mentioned (both calls). When I arrived at the appointed time, I was informed that there was a $150 diagnostic fee and that, if the diagnostic effort included work required by the actual repair, then the diagnostic fee could be applied towards the repair labor. Very misleading and not true! They charged me $145.80 for labor, $33.52 for the belt, $5.00 misc., $21.31 tax, and $150 for a diagnostic fee (total of $355.63).

I asked what work did they do for the diagnostic effort/fee and they said “remove the belt and inspect”. So, what did the labor charge cover? Answer: Same thing! Then the service manager said everyone pays this fee. And then he said they “sometimes” apply the diagnostic fee towards the labor. So, I was made to pay double labor for a very basic and routine replacement of a $33.00 belt.

They should be much better at explaining this fee and it should not be named “diagnostic fee” – it’s just an add-on junk fee and their explanations are vague and inconsistent. Not at all trustworthy!

We plan to replace our two Hyundai cars in the next year or two and are now planning to go somewhere else since they were so unconcerned about their business practices. BTW – they also now charge 3% if you use a credit card.

Alex took care of my Venue on Monday Nov.13 for an inspection , oil change, and general checkup. Everything was done with care and expertly. He left my car clean and even washed my interior front window when asked. I was very pleased with his work.

Good Sales Experience
I recently bought a Tucson Plug in Hybrid from Bowser. Bernie our sales person was pleasant and very knowledgeable. He took us through an overview of the car and hit on all the things it was important for us to know. Most of the price negotiation was done online before we came to the dealership. That was important to us because we live 4+ hours away from the dealership and wanted the price locked down before we made the long drive.
The financial gentleman who dealt with us on the lease terms was courteous and also very informative. He made the process fairly easy.
My only criticism comes regarding the information we were given about charging the car.Bernie told us several times that we could charge the battery in two hours. What he neglected to tell us was that there is no way you can charge the battery in two hours with the charging cable that comes with the car. You need a better quality charging cable that can handle a higher voltage.
Other than that it was a good experience and I chalk that mistake up to the fact that I am guessing that the dealership does not sell that many electric or plug in cars.

Worst Service Center
My car has been there for 10 days, at the time of this review. No one answers the phone. I have left several voicemails and no one calls back. At this point I have no idea what’s going on with the car or if they have even looked at it. Disgusting “customer service”. When and IF I ever get my car back I’ll never go to this location again.

Do not see Scott McCormick
Do not see Scott McCormick at the preowned Hyundai at this location. He was the worst salesmen I’ve ever used at a dealership before. He appeared high the whole time my mother and I were there. Very slow getting through for everything that needed to be done. We were there 6 and a half hours and at the end ended up rushing to get to work. They lied about the car being actively certified and it was in the process of being certified. It was a smokers car and was agreed upon that they would owe me Bactronix ( the system to be cleaned after smoking), a full car detail and a hole in the seat fixed. I am fighting to get any of that done. Why would I sit in a car that smells like smoke when it was agreed to be fixed when I don’t smoke.. I’ve been nothing but nice and understanding. I call about it to check up because everytime he says let me call you back and never does. He yelled at me on the phone and hung up on me mid conversation. I’ve never had such a bad experience at a dealership before. I do not recommend seeing him what so ever. He takes advantage of women. I do not even want to give 1 star.

Poor Service and Misleading
Scheduled oil change and check low pressure in back tire. Was told that there is a side wall leak that can’t be plugged. Service advisor said that original tires are not covered. I had to explain that these were not original and newly purchased tires from Bowser - July 2022. Was then told tire needed ordered. Note that I specifically purchased tires from dealership since Bowser offered road hazard coverage when buying from Bowser

Called on the morning of 12/13 and left a message with no return call. Called around 3pm on 12/13 again see status of tire. Was then told tire was not even ordered and waiting for claim approval. On 12/9 advisor never told me about a claim process and just that a tire would be ordered. Checked with Bowser webpage and there is no information or mention of claim process for road hazard coverage. On 12/13 and 12/14 I left voicemail for the service manager. Still waiting for resolution of this issue as of 1:15 on 12/14.

Wow Bow-ser Bad Bowser!
Drove 45 minutes for an oil change and tire rotation with a 9:00 appointment and arrived early.
They said my "service agent" was late coming in today, but they would help me.
After waiting in the lounge for 3 hours I got a call my car was ready to pick up.
Only to be told they did not change my oil because they did not have any filters.
When I said how about taking a filter out of the 12 cars sitting on the lot ... they said no way.
p.s. they also did not rotate my tires!!! Instead of booking me an appointment to help me out once the filters came in they told me to call the service center for an appointment! Wow Bow-ser bad Bowser!!

Price
I am so disappointed in the service dept. prices. I paid $135.00 to have my car scanned to see why my check engine light was on. they told me my O2 sensor needed replaced and it would cost me appox. $350 to do. I went to another place to get a quote and the scan was free and cost me $128 to have it repaired. I can tell you I will not be back to you for any repairs on my car. I have been a customer for 8 years.

Poor experience with Bowser service department
While on a recent trip to Pittsburgh I decided to add additional destinations so I scheduled an oil change at Bowser Subaru for my 2021 Santa Fe Limited. I arrived early and was greeted by Service advisor Jason. He took basic info including the VIN# and informed me of a special which included oil change, filter and tire rotation for $65.99, which I agreed to. When the work was complete Jason handed me paperwork and stated the special didn't apply since my vehicle has a turbo and requires synthetic oil. The price for the oil change was now $203.62 + tax. I should have been notified that the cost for the oil change would be higher PRIOR to the work being started. The VIN# and Limited trim should have told Jason the Limited trim only comes with a turbo.

When I returned to Florida, I viewed the Bowser service special online. The special does not exclude synthetic oil but states "Synthetic oil is extra". I don't think $137.63 extra is fair. I should have charged the difference between regular oil and synthetic oil.
