At this point I re-connected my battery to the terminals, hooked up my battery testing equipment to the battery and to the OBD2 port reader, and took my own readings. The representative from Belmore Towing got agitated that I wanted to test the battery. He offered to show me his "professional" analysis as proof, which I accepted, and he showed me a meter on his cell phone (with no explanation of how he obtained that data or through what connection) indicating the battery was putting out roughly 12.7 volts, with no CCA reading. My readings indicated roughly 12.7 volts, which is ample voltage, and more than enough cold cranking amps to turn the starter.
The Bellmore Towing rep was more agitated and claimed he had to move on, and needed to know what we wanted to do. My wife and I agreed that we wanted a refund, which he processed at that time.
I ran a diagnostic on the system and it turned out the old battery was completely fine. The issue was simply a setting within the infotainment system that was reset by holding a button for a few seconds.
Beware of companies that pressure you into buying something you don't need, or fail to honestly disclose the full cost up front.
