Tire patch and plug
I took my truck in to have a screw removed from the tire and to have the tire patched and plugged. The work was done and I paid the $19.85 repair bill and left. Later I noticed that the TPM was still indicating low tire pressure. When I returned I home I inspected the wheel and noticed an aftermarket sensor valve in the wheel. A day of so later I returned to Barker Tire Pros and questioned why I there was an aftermarket valve installed. I didn't get and answer, but the manager came out and gave me some song and dance about Toyota's were finicky about syncing with aftermarket valves and that I should drive the truck and eventually it would sync. It did not and I took the truck to Ramey Toyota. They attempted to sync the valve, but to no avail. They ordered a Toyota TPS at a cost of $95 plus labor of $109and tax. I still question how my original valve was damaged and why it why not disclosed when I picked up my truck at Barker's.
