OIL CHANGE SERVICE
Have you noticed that manufacturers have extended the oil change interval? They want you to think that the cost of ownership has decreased. But the reality is it's more critical than ever to change that oil because it not only lubricates the engine, but also lubricates and cools your turbocharger. So, don't be fooled. Watch the experts on YouTube. They'll tell you to change your oil every 5,000 miles. That's what I do at AIS.
TIRE ROTATION
When I'm there for the oil change, I also have them rotate the tires. All-wheel drive vehicles like to have all four tires of the same diameter (or rolling radius). So extend the life of your tires and give your AWD system a break. Rotate your tires with every oil change.
TRANSMISSION FLUID AND FILTER
Some manufacturers tell you that your transmission fluid is good for the life of the vehicle. But the reality is it turns into a black pudding that won't flow through the critical little oil passages to keep your car shifting properly. So get that changed every 50,000 miles also.
SUNROOF DRAINS
If you have a sunroof, there are little drain tubes at each corner to get rid of the rainwater. We had a tiny drip with every heavy rain, which I was inclined to ignore. But, I had AIS clean out the tube after hearing a story about someone who'd ignored the drip and let it kill some critical engine control components hidden under the passenger side carpet. Ouch.
