Since I purchased my Genesis, wife also purchased a Santa Fe. Both are very nice vehicles. The worst part of owning Hyundais is the dealerships lack of service. I do not understand their business model. Every time I have tried to make an appointment, I have to wait up to a moth. The workmanship is not good. I took it in this year for service. Ther dealer in Alexandria suggested my brakes needed service. Afterwards, when I brake at 55 mph, the brakes shudder. Not only is their work terrible but it is one of the least professional dealerships I have ever visited. I went to the parts department and there was a young man on his cell phone texting or gaming. I stood in front of him for half a minute then he noticed me. He quickly hid his phone. He was very difficult to understand- mush mouth. It took him almost 10 minutes and a walk to the back of the shop to determine the part was not available. He did not even provide the cost of the part. I asked him several questions, and he had his hand over his mouth and it was very difficult to understand what he was saying. I've owned several different makes and visited their dealerships for parts. These shops were clean and organized. This shop in Alexandria, and I might add the dealership in Fairfax as well, is dirty and there was a fork on the shelf with some trash.
The receptionists are rude and surly. Great cars- terrible back end when it comes to servicing your car.
I will never purchase another Hyundai for this reason.
