Owned two 356s and 1966 911 previously this is by far my most favorite car. Has the driving feel of the 356s with 911 power best of both worlds. As soon as I get in the car I break out a big smile Just drove for 12 hours and loved every minute car has 96k miles.

Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde

This car is incredible. It has a doula personality. Gentle around town, very easy to drive and yet when need to be amazingly fast. Very stable and sure footed at any speed. For the money could be better equipped. Been very reliable except for minor clutch issues, engine mounts and rear sway bars replaced nothing major.

2001 911 996 Caberlet ☆☆☆☆☆

The 2001 911 996 Convertible is choice if one has the means, I highly recommend picking one up! Does have its issues such as the IMS issue, that if not replaced on some lower milage cars can go out,and say goodbye to your engine! Or the oil in the coolant mix issue! (Wich my car suffers from) other than that, 996 is an entry level Porsche, that carry slot of bang for the buck! Maintenance is expensive but hey it's a Porsche! I will say if one has lots of money the 997 newer model may be a better route to go, but that's saying you have an extra $20 k for that model! 996 is water cooled, and I wouldnt mind having even a earler model air cooled, but hey, hope you have alot more investment cash for them models! With that said, 996 911 is a economical option to enjoy the Porsche experience!

This is my first new generation, water cooled Porsche, and I love it. With the price of my 79 911 continuing to rise, I did t want to risk it at the track, so I bought the most pedestrian and currently under valued model, the 996, with the intent of using it at the track for PCA High Performance Driving Events. In a word, I am impressed. After addressing the IMS myself for piece of mind, I took to the track. And it is truly a Porsche, in every sense of the word. The crisp handling, unbelievable feedback and addictive power, even in base trim, make it a joy at the track. And it is a dual use performance car, just as happy running errands or a spirited drive on a two lane road.

Incredible Vehicle

This car handles like no other, and everything on it makes sense. It is a thrill to just get out and drive with no destination. The seats are amazingly comfortable, and there is more room than you would expect. Nothing like this right here....
