Great Electric SUV that Needs Simplification

Great for an electric SUV that has excellent interior comfort and great get up and go. But note that previously owning a Tesla has affected my opinion. The features offered are like comparing Android (complex) to Apple phones (simple). The various features are not as intuitive and simplistic to use as Tesla offers. A--The nav system has issues: 1. Overboard with questions to get an address mapped. 2. Directions tend to disengage if you touch the screen (so you need to reset it). 3. It maps my home to the adjacent property (I reached out to Google maps to correct it but I think the system is proprietary). 4. The distance for trips of up to 398 miles isn't really true since AC and speeding over 70 mph drastically reduce distance--without any idea how to gauge it. B--Media: I always have to switch back to the radio, which I prefer in the car, because media system defaults to my phone's Spotify (I can't seem to change this!). C--The built-in safety features such as to stop the car from backing up in case of an obstacle is too abrupt (almost shocking and uncomfortable). I tried to adjust some of safety features, but I wasn't able to adjust this backing up issue. The cruise control is good but if you don't turn off the turn signal in time, it will drive off the road (odd!) D--Other: Keyless entry set up took over 20 minutes with about 3 log-ins to get it active (Why? just make it standard). The key fob is bulky and doesn't work for the back trunk latch if the car is on (why?). I have to walk to the driver's side to unlock the trunk unless the vehicle is off. Hard to find the manual trunk latch. The gear shift is opposite other manufacturers, especially Tesla (when they has a shift separate from their computer). I catch myself going in reverse rather than forward. The charging port is great to be set up for National Standard but it is on the opposite side of the vehicle (I take up two spaces at Tesla charging stations sometimes). Climate control access on the app is complex and shuts off after 30 minutes (why? just have it activated in the car). I am uncomfortable leaving my dog in the car to go into a store for a minute. I like Tesla's feature of turning on when I sit in the car, turning off when I leave it (no button for on/off). I also like auto locking, as Tesla offers, when I walk away--not reliable on this model.

LOVE IT but a few things ....

Overall this is a great car (at least that's my experience one year in). There are a few minor quirks that happen, i.e. the air conditioning seems to come on by itself sometimes. I like open windows so don't always need it but there it goes anyway. Also the smooth integration with Siri has been a little challenging sometimes (a recent update has helped it). Also if CarPlay doesn't start when the vehicle starts up it is hard to figure out how to get it going. Doesn't happen often but it does happen. But other than these minor things the car drives great and is a real pleasure.

Avoid at all costs until electrical are legitimately addressed

Beautiful car. Best I've ever driven. Having said that. AVOID AT ALL COSTS 12v battery repeatedly died. Was told my driving habits were the problem. Turns out it was an electrical issue they were not able to diagnose. Car finally bricked -inooperable. Rolled down a hill into a tree and Hyundai refused to take responsibility for months. I was told the vehicle needed to be repaired before they would buy it back. Still waiting, almost 4 months, for a legitimate and reasonable repurchase offer. Avoid this car and Hyundai customer service until they addrss the broadly known electrical problems.

Love the car, but ICCU failure is a real problem

Here's my simple review: I love the car. Style, performance, price, technology - I think it's a really great car in every way. But (and here's the but): I don't have the car anymore because the ICCU failed and I had to wait almost 10 weeks to get my car back. 10 weeks! So I reluctantly used the lemon law to turn the car back in. That delay was ridiculous and wholly unacceptable. Corporate should be embarrassed that it took so long to fix. And during that time, the dealer had no answers on how long it would take - they just said they have no idea when the part will be available. So, the car is a winner. But the ICCU issue makes it hard for me to recommend to people.

Best SUV I’ve ever owned!

This SUV has changed my life. I was apprehensive about going for an EV, but this has been the best decision on a vehicle I have ever made. I am paying only $80 more per month than my previous 2022 Tucson SEL! I charge from 20%-80% at home for about $5! There is nothing more satisfying than passing gas stations at $4.50/gallon. The vehicle has great technology, app based control of features, handles great, tremendous acceleration and great range for a 80% or 100% charge. Best decision I have ever made on a vehicle.

Extremely reliable and a good investment.

I put 90k in 13 mos as Lyft driver with no mechanical or electronic issues. It continues to give me good battery life. And super roomy car with a smooth ride. A real treat.

Don't Change it!!

Seriously you guys have done such an excellent job with this car. Don't change it! My greatest fear is that you're going to make changes to future models in a vain attempt to improve it. The only two things I'd ad are a compartment for sunglasses and a visor extender for the sun. It can be annoying when the car will break if it sees something behind it but that's just a part of that technology. Everything else is so well done. Don't fix what's not broken. I want to drive this car into the ground. And I have a feeling that when I go to get the newer model it won't be as good because there will be some misguided decision to follow Tesla. Teslas are terrible on the interior. Please don't! If anything this is the best car Hyundai has made and it should be the template applied to all other models. Well done. Don't change it!!
