From a Great car to an Excellent Car!
My previous car was a 2006 Mazda6. The Mazda was amazing! It handled well, was inexpensive to maintain, and lasted forever it seemed. I then saw a Hyundai on the road one day and didn't know what it was. Upon doing research, I found out it was the Hyundai Azera! I did more research and decided I wanted to test drive it. I instantly fell in love with the color of the tester (it was Bronze Mist) which was a 2013 model-year Azera with the Technology Package. From the moment I sat in the cabin, I knew I would be taking it home with me! The styling inside and out struck out like a chord of beauty seeing it on the road and close up in person!
I've had this car for a little over a year now, and I can honestly say I am just at home in this car as I was in my Mazda6. It has so many features that I've never had the chance to experience before such as an Infotainment system (My Mazda6 was fully loaded with the Navigation, but that is all it was), the ventilated seats which are amazing, and the huge Panoramic Sunroof which is absolutely stunning! The ride is quite soft, but I would imagine it would be softer with the smaller 18" wheels (the Technology Package comes with the 19"). The steering is good. I drove in both ECO and NON-ECO Mode and the steering does change a little (Lighter in NON-ECO, tighter in ECO), but remember this is NOT a sports car. It is, however, a soft ride. The gas mileage is actually pretty close to (maybe a little better than) what my Mazda put out, which is impressive since this car is much larger. In my mixed-driving, I've gotten (on paper) about 22-24 MPG, and 28-32 MPG on those random drives down the Interstate. I've not had any mechanical problems with my Azera so far, and usual maintenance was cheap. The seats are very soft, but they can be a little slippery depending on what you're wearing and might be a little narrow. The glass on the car can be a bit difficult to keep clean, also, though that was minor. I've also noticed that the Azera has every technology known at the time, just about, except for the safety tech like the Blind-Spot System or the Adaptive-Cruise-Control system. This, however, doesn't bother me since I've never had those techs. They are offered on the more recent Azeras, so if you want those safety system, you can purchase a 2015 or 2016 model-year.
All in all, I miss my beautiful Mazda6, but I'm glad I chose the Azera to replace it! The Pros definitely outweigh the Cons for me, and I plan to keep this wonderful car as long as the engine allows me to! :-)
