Best EV for the money
I've been researching this car since it released in South Korea (over a year). It was very difficult for dealers to receive inventory for approximately 8 months since it arrived in the U.S. The features and straight-line performance is outstanding. The build quality of the exterior and interior are superior to many "luxury brands." For some background, I traded in my 2015 BMW M3 for this vehicle and had many cars from 2 other BMWs, Toyota, Lexus, Acuras, and a Mercedes AMG. There are many features that may be gimmicky but can be useful when you need it such as biometric unlock and drive-off (especially for surfers or other outdoor sports). My favorite things would be the physical buttons, HUD, and overall ride quality (excellent NVH). The car drives much larger than it is and is shorter than most cars which is great for parking. It's even shorter than the current model Honda Civic, but provides plenty of interior space for 5 passengers. Some gripes would be the soft spring rate, factory tires, no bag hangers in trunk (had to buy some that hangs off the rear headrest), and low relative range. Other annoyances would be the battery preconditioning function as the GPS would require a EV charging station POI (not simply the address) to start the preconditioning process (starts within 2 minutes after POI is entered). Manual activation of battery conditioning would be ideal. Overall, I am impressed with Genesis' first attempt at an EV. They did a great job and I hope to see improvements in future models.
