good looking vehicle, very classy

i bought G80 over an E-class. And already own Mercedes (SUV). Very happy with the purchase. Although to pay a higher price, the G80 would need to compare to Mercedes on fuel economy and ride quality. The vehicle is stylish, inside and out, with understated elegance and holds court with every other brand in its class. Particularly happy with the interior, which is clean and elegant. Fit and finish is excellent. Very happy with the exterior and interior colors offered. And appreciate the extra effort Genesis is making about its commitment to be a luxury brand in the developed markets. Id like to see an upgrade to the rear view to make the Genesis a truly unique style, as now the vehicle is too close a cousin to the Hyundai.

Best car I’ve ever owned. Never going back to Lexus or Lincoln

My only complaint is your service in South Florida is absolutely disheartening. It does not live up to your name and your standards nor customer expectations.

Ford G80

My G80 is beautiful and powerful, but she’s over-engineered with several superfluous features. The turn signal camera is useless as the steering wheel blocks the view and I’d rather trust my rear view mirrors. I hate the “stay in your lane” feature that forces the car out of my control. I think the camera that tells me to look out for my surroundings is a waste because I’m stopped at a traffic light. What could go wrong if I’m not moving? I don’t like that the front seats go back when the door opens because I have to move the seat up before I get in so I don’t feel like I’m falling into the car. And why so I need to know the latitude, longitude, and elevation above sea level?

Beautiful car but...

Love the car! Just have issues and am afraid to trust it. Keep in mind, the car is stored in a climate controlled garage when not in use. Has just over 14k miles and we've had it since it was new. The first issue we had was the battery died a few months ago, while the car was in our garage. The battery was so dead that absolutely nothing worked. No lights, not the trunk release, nothing. Dead. Dead. Dead. Called Genesis dealer for help. They said there was no way to get into the trunk (which is incorrect). I called Genesis roadside assistant. They told me the car's transmission could not be shifted into neutral unless it was running (also not true) and that because of this, special equipment would be needed to remove it from the garage. The said they'd have someone there within an hour or two. LONG story short, it took FIVE DAYS, and this was only after I managed to temporarily charge the battery enough to drive the car out of the garage and leave it where access for towing would be simple. Warranty covered it all, the only reason for the issue...battery failed. Since then we keep the car on a battery maintainer when not in use. Second issue, just started about a week ago, the transmission occasionally doesn't seem to want to downshift when going up hills (we live in a very hilly area), the result feels like the engine doesn't respond when stepping on the gas. Very disconcerting. However, it only happens once in a while and it's likely the dealership won't be able to duplicate the problem. Plus we live over an hour away. Third issue is the absolutely beautiful Tasman Blue paint...gorgeous...however, it chips VERY easily, all the way to the metal. I ordered a tube of touch up paint from the dealership. They said they'd let me know when it comes in. It's been about 2 months and we've heard nothing. It looks great, handles and drives well (most of the time) and is very comfortable. But we keep waiting for the next thing to go wrong and leave us stranded.

My Genesis has been a big disappointment. I am in my 70s and for the last 30 years I have drove either a Cadillac or Lincoln. Your genesis does not hold a candle to them. that includes the car and your service at the dealership on M 59 in Macomb Township after multiple problems after I purchased the car they have tried actually quite hard however, I cannot get over the fact of them telling me for weeks that I was leaving something on in the car and draining the battery so that I got stuck without transportation twice and then they realize the battery was no good in the car. The genesis is very difficult to use and to learn compared to Cadillac and Lincoln. I still have issues with the doors, unlocking and locking and because I still work full-time, I don’t wanna go through the misery of getting the card of the dealership.

If only the dealers standards matched Genesis high quality and styling

Look carefully at your dealer's reputation for sales and service before purchasing. Most dealers also sell (at least) the Hyundai brand and, in my experience, they don't have the professionalism and passion to represent and service these beautiful cars .This is my 3d G80 since 2017 (currently own a 2024 G80 and 2026 GV80) and my experience is that the dealers' standards do not match the high standards of the vehicles. My original selling dealer was terminated, and the replacement dealer wasn't much better. I switched over to another dealer with a standalone facility even though it's an hour further away than my original dealer. I will be visiting them next week, I'm hoping that the results are better . 2) Features take several months to learn. not user friendly. Despite the complaints,my wife and I still love our Genesis cars..
